Tayc
Born in Marseille in 1996, Tayc—whose real name is Julien Bouadjie—developed early on, between France and his Cameroonian roots, a connection with Afro music and French-language R&B. First noticed on streaming platforms in the mid-2010s, he refined a style he calls "Afrolove," situated between R&B, afrobeat, zouk influences, and pop ballads, carried by melodic vocals and lyrics centered on romantic relationships. After releasing several tracks online, he structured his path with the mixtapes "Alchemy" (2017) and "H.E.L.I.O.S" (2018), which cemented his presence on the French urban scene. He reached a new milestone with the album "NYXIA" in 2019, a dense project where he explores different shades of Afro R&B and consolidates his aesthetic, before following up with "Fleur froide" in 2020, then its expanded version, "Fleur froide - Second état: la cristallisation," in 2021, which extend this romantic, nocturnal universe. Alternating danceable tracks with slower numbers, Tayc collaborates widely with artists from rap, urban pop, and Afro-European scenes, and tours regularly, with a concert format geared toward voice and live performance.
