Joé Dwèt Filé
Born in Paris in 1995 and raised in Montreuil, Joé Dwèt Filé, whose real name is Joé Gilles, situates his trajectory at the crossroads of Haitian heritage, francophone urban song, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. Initially active in church music, where he encountered gospel and konpa, he later developed a songwriting approach focused on melodic singing, blending R&B, afro, kompa and contemporary zouk. He first attracted attention with the group Lespada, whose online visibility accompanied the release of the mixtape #Esolf in 2018, followed by the album À deux in 2019. As a solo artist he released the EP Eira in 2020, then the albums Calypso in 2021 and Daddy 9 in 2023, while maintaining a steady output of singles, including Jolie madame with Ronisia, Egoïste with Singuila and 4 Kampé in 2024. His career also includes work as a composer, producer and sound engineer, and collaborations with artists such as Stony, Axel Tony, Vegedream, Dadju, Fally Ipupa and Tiakola. Joé Dwèt Filé has performed in France and internationally, with appearances at La Cigale in Paris and at the Olympia in Montreal.
