Franglish

Rooted between Paris and his family origins in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Franglish has developed an artistic universe where melodic rap, R&B and afro‑urban sounds constantly intersect. Hailing from the eastern districts of Paris, he first made his mark in the mid‑2010s through freestyles and tracks released online, before carving out a place on the francophone hip‑hop scene. The name Franglish refers to his bilingual lyrics, alternating French and English, often focusing on relationships, partying and everyday urban life. Across his projects, the rapper‑singer has shifted from a more street‑oriented rap to more sung, melodic formats, characterised by catchy hooks and rhythms drawing as much from afrobeats as from contemporary R&B. The release of the album Monsieur in 2019 was a milestone in shaping his artistic identity, consolidating this blend of singing, rap and Afro‑pop codes. Frequently featured on tracks by a new generation of rap and pop artists, Franglish maintains an active live presence in France and francophone Europe, carrying to the stage his position midway between rap, urban song and dance music.
