Guy2Bezbar

Hailing from the northern districts of Paris around Barbès and La Chapelle, Guy2Bezbar develops a street-rooted rap that blends drill, trap and melodic elements. First noticed in the late 2010s through a series of freestyles and music videos released online, he belongs to the new generation of Francophone rap that combines the energy of drill with heavily auto-tuned sung hooks. His lyrics focus on the everyday life of his neighborhood, bonds of friendship, the informal economy and a jaded attitude toward success, set to dark, rhythmic productions sometimes tinged with Afro and club influences. His debut album, Coco Jojo, released in 2021, marked a milestone by shaping his world around a balance between blunt tracks and more introspective songs. Since then he has increased collaborations with other artists from the Parisian and Francophone scenes, while continuing to put out singles and short projects regularly and delivering live shows that retain the energy of his clips and freestyles.
