Benny Benassi

Born in Milan in 1967 and active from an early age in the clubs of Reggio Emilia, Benny Benassi — real name Marco Benassi — developed his career as a DJ and producer alongside his cousin Alle Benassi, with whom he has worked since the 1990s on several projects, including Benassi Bros. Benny Benassi’s international breakthrough came in the early 2000s with Benny Benassi Presents The Biz and the track “Satisfaction” (2002), which coincided with the rise of a minimal, mechanical electro house strongly focused on rhythmic impact. Under his own name he released the albums Hypnotica (2003), Rock ’N’ Rave (2008), Electroman (2011) and Danceaholic (2016). His repertoire spans electro house, progressive house and formats more directly connected to electronic pop, with productions built around clear basslines, short loops and often prominently featured vocals. Throughout his career Benny Benassi has moved between club stages, remixes and collaborations with artists such as Chris Brown, Gary Go, T‑Pain and Skrillex, while retaining a direct, dancefloor-calibrated sonic signature.
