Trentemøller
Born in Vordingborg and based in Copenhagen, Anders Trentemøller first developed his musical practice in the late 1990s through various indie rock projects before forging a more electronic world under the name Trentemøller. His early EPs and maxi singles from the mid-2000s established a writing style marked by downtempo, minimalism, trip hop, ambient and dark atmospheres, with a precise and often cinematic production. This approach took shape on the album The Last Resort (2006); in 2007 Trentemøller expanded the project for the stage by assembling a live band that performed at festivals such as Roskilde, Glastonbury and Melt. With Into the Great Wide Yonder (2010), his sound moved toward more organic textures, with the electronics engaging more directly with post‑punk, shoegaze, dream pop and darkwave. That trajectory continued on Lost (2013), Fixion (2016), Obverse (2019), Memoria (2022) and Dreamweaver (2024). Alongside his albums, Trentemøller has produced numerous remixes and collaborations for and with artists including Röyksopp, The Knife, Moby, Franz Ferdinand, Depeche Mode, Low and Jehnny Beth.
