Bonobo

Under the name Bonobo, Simon Green, a British musician, producer and DJ born in Hampshire, has developed since the late 1990s a melodic electronic music that blends downtempo, trip hop, nu-jazz and acoustic arrangements. Initially released on Tru Thoughts with Animal Magic in 2000 and Dial 'M' for Monkey in 2003, Bonobo later expanded his writing on Ninja Tune with Days to Come in 2006, where vocals took on a greater role, followed by Black Sands in 2010 and The North Borders in 2013 — albums built around supple rhythms, muted bass, strings, brass and soul influences. Migration (2017) and Fragments (2022) continued this evolution toward a broader sound, conceived as much for listening as for the stage. Bonobo alternates between a live format featuring musicians and singers and a DJ activity situated within international electronic circuits. Over the course of his career Bonobo has notably worked with Bajka, Andreya Triana, Rhye, Nick Murphy and Nicole Miglis.
