Suicide Silence

Formed in Riverside, California, Suicide Silence rose quickly in the 2000s in the American deathcore scene with a sound built on massive riffs, abrupt tempo changes, blasts, and a vocal style alternating between deep growls and high screams. After several demos and a self-titled EP released in 2005, the band released The Cleansing in 2007, followed by No Time to Bleed in 2009 and The Black Crown in 2011, three records that underlined its foothold on international metal circuits, between American tours, European visits, and festivals such as the Mayhem Festival or the Warped Tour. The history of Suicide Silence is marked by the death of their singer Mitch Lucker in 2012, then by the arrival of Eddie Hermida in 2013, former frontman of All Shall Perish, who opens a new era for the group. With him come You Can’t Stop Me in 2014, the album Suicide Silence in 2017, where the band temporarily moved away from deathcore to incorporate more nu metal elements and clean singing, then Become the Hunter in 2020 and Remember... You Must Die in 2023, which return to a more direct and brutal approach. Around guitarists Chris Garza and Mark Heylmun, long-time members, Suicide Silence preserves an identity centered on compact, physical extreme metal, closely tied to the live scene.
