Rain City Drive
Born in Sacramento, California, Rain City Drive took shape in 2014 under the name Slaves, initially centered around singer Jonny Craig, before several lineup and identity changes. The band’s music sits at the intersection of melodic post-hardcore and alternative rock, featuring tense guitars, prominent choruses, and a focus on clean singing rather than harsh vocals. This early period is documented by Through Art We Are All Equals (2014), Routine Breathing (2015), Beautiful Death (2018) and the acoustic EP Revision (2019). In 2019, Matt McAndrew joined Rain City Drive as vocalist, marking a new chapter and a shift toward more direct songwriting while retaining the band’s post-hardcore background. To Better Days was released in 2020 under the former name, and the group officially adopted the Rain City Drive moniker in 2021. Under this identity they released Rain City Drive in 2022 and Things Are Different Now in 2024. Over the years the band has toured the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, and shared stages with acts such as Dance Gavin Dance, Hands Like Houses, Bury Tomorrow and We Came as Romans.
