Nothing But Thieves
Born in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, Nothing But Thieves has brought together since 2012 Conor Mason, Joe Langridge-Brown, Dominic Craik, Philip Blake and James Price around an alternative rock that blends melodic tension, incisive guitars, carefully crafted choruses and darker or electronic touches depending on the period. The English quintet emerged in the early 2010s with several EPs, before signing with RCA in 2014 and releasing the album Nothing But Thieves in 2015, followed by Broken Machine in 2017. With What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way? (2018), then Moral Panic (2020) and the EP Moral Panic II (2021), Nothing But Thieves evolved its songwriting toward a more edgy, at times more political format, while retaining a compact rock base between indie rock, hard rock and alternative pop. Dead Club City, released in 2023, pushed synthetic elements and a more futuristic aesthetic further without breaking with the band's energy. On stage, Nothing But Thieves has played both club circuits and festivals such as Reading and Leeds or the Isle of Wight, and has also opened for bands like Muse, which has supported its lasting establishment on the British and European rock scene.
