Dead Poet Society

Formed in Boston by four musicians who attended the Berklee College of Music, Dead Poet Society brings together Jack Underkofler, Jack Collins, Will Goodroad and Dylan Brenner around a taut alternative rock sound informed by grunge, hard rock and noisier textures. The band first drew attention with several EPs—Axiom (2014), Weapons (2016) and Dempsey (2018)—before expanding into a fuller album format with -!- in 2021. There they honed a songwriting approach built on massive riffs, melodic vocal lines and a tight rhythm section, producing an abrasive yet readable sound situated between modern rock and post‑grunge heritage. After relocating to Los Angeles, Dead Poet Society continued this evolution with Fission in 2024, a record that keeps a direct approach while allowing more space for dynamic contrasts and more open arrangements. Present on rock stages across the U.S. and Europe, Dead Poet Society belong to a generation of bands that combine live energy, a knack for hooks and a taste for heavy guitars without veering into metal.
