MK (Marc Kinchen)
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Marc Kinchen began developing in the early 1990s, under the name MK, an American house style that blends deep house, garage house and vocal dance, with a marked preference for piano chords, supple basslines and vocals cut into rhythmic patterns. He emerged on the house scene with tracks like “Burning” and “Always” in 1991, then established a signature as a producer and remixer through highly crafted reworkings, notably on Nightcrawlers' “Push the Feeling On” in the mid‑1990s. After an initial period of intense activity in clubs and on the remix circuit, MK returned to prominence in the early 2010s with new productions and a regular presence on international electronic stages. The singles “Piece of Me” with Becky Hill (2016) and “17” (2017) extended this second phase, more directly aimed at the contemporary club format. Between vocal house, garage groove and a more frontal dance structure, Marc Kinchen maintains a writing style focused on rhythmic efficiency, clear progressions and the treatment of the voice as the driving element of the track.
