Interplanetary Criminal

Born in 1993 in Blackburn and having lived in Liverpool, Bolton and Leeds before returning to Manchester, Interplanetary Criminal, the stage name of Zachary Bruce, is part of the club scene trajectory of northern England. Initially active as a DJ and producer in the early 2010s, he started with a dark breakbeat, moved toward lo-fi house, and then established a sound centered on UK garage, dry basslines, speed-garage rhythms and rave textures. Interplanetary Criminal began releasing his productions in the mid-2010s and put out the EP Intergalactic Jack in 2017, followed by the album Get Money in 2018 and a series of EPs on independent labels such as Shall Not Fade, Timeisnow and Sneaker Social Club. In 2019 he founded ATW Records with Main Phase, focusing on contemporary forms of garage and breakbeat. A breakthrough came in 2022 with B.O.T.A. (Baddest of Them All), a track produced with Eliza Rose that greatly expanded his audience. Since then he has continued with solo productions, compilations like All Thru the Night in 2023, and collaborations with DJ Cosworth, SadBoi, Sammy Virji and KETTAMA.
