James Hype

Based between Liverpool and London, James Hype has established himself as a British DJ and producer at the crossroads of house, tech house and bass-driven sounds from the UK club scene. Hailing from Wirral in Merseyside, he built his reputation from the mid-2010s with highly technical mixes, online mashups and residencies in clubs across the North of England, before steadily expanding his activity across Europe. The single "More Than Friends" (2017), featuring Kelli-Leigh, marked a key milestone and positioned James Hype as a producer of dancefloor-focused tracks, constructed around prominent basslines, instantly recognizable vocal hooks and tightly paced builds. Alongside a growing run of official remixes for pop and dance artists, he launched Stereohype in 2020 as both a label and a platform, enabling him to release his own productions as well as music by producers aligned with his aesthetic. With "Ferrari" (2022), made with Miggy Dela Rosa, James Hype further cemented a voice-led, chorus-forward songwriting approach while remaining rooted in an intensive DJ set culture, from intimate clubs and major UK venues to festival stages across Europe and North America.
