Bilmuri
Project led by American musician Johnny Franck, a former member of Attack Attack!, Bilmuri has been developing since the mid‑2010s out of Columbus, Ohio, around a solo studio format and a variable live lineup. Bilmuri moves between post‑hardcore, melodic metalcore, emo‑pop and lighter pop‑rock influences, frequently incorporating electronic elements and brass arrangements that give its tracks distinctive texture. Launched with a high degree of autonomy, the project relies on a succession of short, regular releases rather than a traditional album cycle — notably Rich Sips (2019), Eggy Pocket (2020), Goblin Hours (2022) and American Motor Sports (2023), all released independently. Over the years, Bilmuri’s songwriting has shifted from a metalcore‑adjacent register toward more sung compositions, often centered on catchy choruses and lyrics that blend internet references with introspective themes. The Bilmuri project therefore belongs to a North American alternative scene that intersects post‑hardcore, online culture and DIY practices.
