Amon Amarth

Amon Amarth, formed in 1992 in Tumba, Sweden, has become one of the leading acts in melodic death metal, with a sonic and visual identity directly inspired by Norse mythology. Driven by Johan Hegg’s deep, massive voice and the melodic riffs of Olavi Mikkonen and Johan Söderberg, the band established an unmistakable signature early on: a blend of sheer power, warlike anthems and meticulous melodic songwriting. Their discography, which began with Once Sent from the Golden Hall in 1998, soon became a genre touchstone thanks to cult albums such as The Avenger, Versus the World and With Oden on Our Side.
