DjRUM

Under the moniker DjRUM, Felix Manuel has been developing a trajectory from London since the early 2010s at the intersection of British electronic scenes. A producer and DJ, DjRUM operates within a field where dubstep, broken beat, jungle, techno, ambient and bass music meet, composing work that combines club pulse, suspended passages, piano motifs and textures close to jazz or chamber music. After several early maxis on 2nd Drop Records, DjRUM released Seven Lies in 2013, an album that established the foundations of his rhythmic and atmospheric approach. His career has continued with more fragmented releases, mixes and a steady presence on club and festival circuits across Europe, in contexts tied both to bass music and to techno and leftfield scenes. In 2018 he released Portrait With Firewood on R&S Records, a broader and more contrasted record in which tempo breaks, detailed percussion and acoustic elements take a more prominent role. In both his productions and his DJ sets, DjRUM circulates varied influences without fixing them into a single style, maintaining a flexible relationship between rhythmic intensity, melody and space.
