Deftones

Deftones is an American alternative metal band from Sacramento, California. Formed in 1988, the lineup includes vocalist and guitarist Chino Moreno, guitarist Stephen Carpenter, Franck Delgado on keyboards and mixing console, Abe Cunningham on drums and percussion, and bassist Sergio Vega, who replaced the original bassist Chi Cheng, who passed away in 2013 from complications of a car accident. The band released its debut album, "Adrenaline," in 1995. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Deftones established themselves as trailblazers, blending metal with shades of experimental rock on albums such as "Around the Fur" (1997) and "White Pony" (2000), the latter achieving unprecedented success. The band hit the road, playing festival stages and major concert halls. Despite some rough patches (issues with producers, addictions, etc.), Deftones released their fifth album in 2006, "Saturday Night Wrist," reigniting their career. Following extensive touring and the tragic accident that left Chi Cheng in a coma in 2008, Deftones cautiously returned with two albums, "Diamond Eyes" (2010) and "Koi No Yokan" (2012).
