Limp Bizkit

Formed in the mid-1990s in Jacksonville, Florida, Limp Bizkit emerged within the American nu metal wave by combining heavy guitars, rap, and elements of punk and funk. Around singer Fred Durst the lineup settled with Wes Borland on guitar, Sam Rivers on bass, John Otto on drums and DJ Lethal on turntables — a configuration that shaped Limp Bizkit’s sound both on stage and in the studio. Noticed on the U.S. rock and metal circuit, the band gained recognition with Three Dollar Bill, Y’all (1997) and broadened its audience at the end of the decade with Significant Other (1999) and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000), which received heavy rotation on rock radio and music channels. Tours such as the Family Values Tour and major festivals consolidated their live presence, marked by a contrast between Borland’s highly visual stage persona and Durst’s more frontal flow. After a period of lineup changes and a relative hiatus, their career continued with Results May Vary (2003), the EP The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1) (2005) and Gold Cobra (2011), which re-emphasized the blend of syncopated riffs, hip‑hop rhythms and more melodic choruses. With Still Sucks (2021), Limp Bizkit returned to that intersection of rap rock, alternative metal and late‑1990s energy, while maintaining steady touring activity and a long-standing international fanbase.
