Jason Aldean
Born in Macon, Georgia, in 1977, Jason Aldean developed his style in local clubs before joining Nashville’s country scene in the early 2000s. Signed to the independent label Broken Bow Records, he released a self-titled debut in 2005, followed by Relentless in 2007 and Wide Open in 2009, which established a contemporary country aesthetic heavily marked by rock, electric guitars and arena-sized choruses. Aldean pushed this blend of mainstream country and hard-rock influences further on My Kinda Party (2010) and Night Train (2012), while still keeping a repertoire of more traditional ballads. With Old Boots, New Dirt (2014) and They Don’t Know (2016) he explored poppier sounds and a certain "bro country" turn, before cementing that massively produced sound on Rearview Town (2018) and 9 (2019). The albums Macon (2021) and Georgia (2022), conceived as a diptych, explicitly return to his Georgian roots, while Highway Desperado (2023) continues the mix of radio-friendly country, stadium rock and more melodic mid-tempos that characterizes Jason Aldean’s body of work.
