Info
On 4 December 2027, The Lightning Seeds land at O2 Academy Leeds for a night built around the kind of melodic British pop-rock that made the band a staple of the 90s circuit. Started in late-80s Liverpool by songwriter and producer Ian Broudie, the project first took shape as a mostly solo studio adventure, with that crisp, polished sound and chorus-first writing already in place. Expect a set that moves between indie pop bite and Britpop shine, pulling from early records like Cloudcuckooland and Sense, plus the run of singles that defined their live reputation: The Life of Riley, Change, Lucky You, Perfect, You Showed Me. Over the years the songwriting opened up to collaborations too, and there’s always that shared-memory moment around Three Lions, a track that slipped from a one-off idea into a piece of UK culture. Later albums kept the guitars supple and the arrangements tight, so this show is less about nostalgia than a band still comfortable in its own sound.
