Info
On 14 November 2026, Paul Heaton brings his sharp, story-first pop songwriting to Co-op Live in Manchester. Coming out of the same British tradition that made The Housemartins and later The Beautiful South such fixture bands, Heaton’s songs still lean on bright melodies, a warm, conversational voice, and lyrics that watch everyday English life up close, with a dry sense of humour and plenty of social detail.
Expect a set that moves easily between indie pop snap, pop-rock drive and subtle soulful touches, the kind of writing that can sound light on the surface while still digging into relationships, routines, class, and the small contradictions of modern Britain. With a long catalogue spanning his bands, solo records, and his celebrated work alongside Jacqui Abbott, this Manchester date is a chance to hear that narrative pop craft in full flow, shaped by decades of tight choruses and plain-spoken lines. More recently, The Mighty Several (2024) adds another chapter to a career built on melody and observation rather than big gestures.
