Ellur
Born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, Ellur, the stage name of Ella Megan McNamara, has since 2020 been developing a pop and indie-pop writing rooted in intimate storytelling, with songs that blend direct melodies, bright guitars and a sensibility sometimes more expansive inherited from British indie rock. After early platform debuts with the single "Reflection" in 2020, Ellur released the EP Moments in 2021 on Leeds independent label Dance to the Radio, and then refined her universe through tracks like "Now I’m Alone", "Satellites" or "Missing Kid". Her repertoire moves between chamber pop, open choruses and more nervy tracks, without departing from a writing centered on relationships, doubt and self-formation. Coming from a musical background, she is the daughter of Richard McNamara of Embrace, but Ellur builds her live career in a frame closer to the current indie circuit, first in pubs and then touring under her own name. She subsequently performs on stages such as the BBC Music Introducing Stage at Leeds Festival in 2024, as well as Latitude and SXSW, while also supporting Kaiser Chiefs, Blossoms or Supergrass. In 2025, the EP God Help Me Now marks a new step, ahead of the release of her debut album At Home in My Mind in 2026.
