Info
On November 7, 2026, at Le Bascala in Bruguières, four bands pushed extreme metal to its limits: Archspire, Crown Magnetar, The Zenith Passage and Analepsy.
Archspire, based in Vancouver, plays high-speed technical death metal. The quintet led by Oli Peters, Dean Lamb and Tobi Morelli strings together intricate riffs, segmented drumming and an almost percussive vocal delivery. From All Shall Align to Bleed the Future, the band has refined its writing without lightening it; live, it emphasizes tight synchronization and contrasts between blistering assaults and more spacious passages.
From Colorado, Crown Magnetar defends a brutal, technical deathcore: high tempos, massive breakdowns and an alternation of shrieks and deep growls. The Codex of Flesh (2021) and Everything Bleeds (2022) establish a dense, precise sound; on stage, structures tighten to showcase the fastest sequences and the heavy grooves.
Originating in Los Angeles, The Zenith Passage leans toward technical death metal with progressive touches and a dark sci‑fi imagination. From Solipsist to Datalysium (2023), the outfit led by Justin McKinney works with winding architectures, dissonant textures and dynamic shifts that create a marked atmosphere without reducing themselves to mere exhibition.
Based in Lisbon, Analepsy blends the weight of old‑school brutal death with more melodic lines. After Atrocities From Beyond (2017) and Quiescence (2022), the band confirms a taste for massive riffs, tempo variations and clean execution, tailored for slam and technical death. A bill that crosses several strands of contemporary death metal.
