Analepsy

Based in Lisbon, Analepsy has been operating since 2013 in the slamming brutal death metal realm, with an aesthetic that blends the weight of old‑school brutal death metal and more melodic guitar lines. Emerging from the Portuguese extreme scene, Analepsy first drew attention with an initial short format release before expanding their songwriting on Atrocities From Beyond (2017) and later Quiescence (2022). The band crafts compact, intensely rhythmic tracks built on tempo variations, deep guttural vocals and a precise production that preserves the frontal impact typical of slam death. Over the years Analepsy has circulated through the network of bills and tours dedicated to extreme death metal—between brutal death, slam and technical death—while maintaining a clear focus: massive riffs, tight execution and composition that is more structured than the genre average. Analepsy is thus associated with a strand of contemporary death metal where direct brutality coexists with a cleaner approach to arrangements.
