Originally from Lafayette, Louisiana, Addison Rae first rose to prominence in the late 2010s as a TikTok content creator and dancer before turning to pop music. Based in Los Angeles, she has developed a project geared toward mainstream pop with dance and electronic inflections, crafted alongside songwriters and producers from the contemporary American scene. In 2021, she released the single “Obsessed,” which laid the foundations of her musical identity, combining immediate choruses, dense production, and lyrics centered on desire, self-image, and romantic relationships. While continuing her acting and influencer work, Addison Rae has gradually cemented her place in online pop, drawing on a highly codified visual aesthetic inspired by R&B and Y2K culture and on a constant presence across social media.
