Megan Moroney

Between Savannah, Georgia, where she grew up, and Nashville, Megan Moroney has shaped a brand of country songwriting rooted in personal storytelling and imagery of the American South. After studying at the University of Georgia and playing her first shows on campus, she moved to Nashville in the early 2020s and drew attention with a run of singles that blend modern country with pop flourishes and acoustic ballads. The EP “Pistol Made of Roses” (2022) laid the groundwork for her writing, focused on family stories, romantic relationships, and everyday details, while the album “Lucky” (2023) expanded that scope toward a more assertive sound, giving greater space to electric guitars and melodic choruses. Onstage, Moroney is part of the U.S. country venue and festival circuit, with a set that alternates slow, narrative songs and more rhythmic cuts. Her second album, “Am I Okay?” (2024), continues in that vein by sharpening the contrast between introspective ballads and mid-tempo tracks, cementing Moroney’s place among a generation of country singers who play with genre codes while staying true to direct, accessible writing.
