The Story So Far

Hailing from the punk scene in Walnut Creek, California, The Story So Far emerged in the late 2000s as a key band in the American pop-punk revival. Formed in 2007 around vocalist Parker Cannon, with Kevin Geyer on guitar, Kelen Capener on bass and Ryan Torf on drums, they developed a sound blending melodic hardcore energy, strained vocals and direct melodies, with lyrics centered on relationships, emotional fatigue and coming of age. After a debut EP in 2010 the band signed to Pure Noise Records and released Under Soil and Dirt in 2011, followed by What You Don’t See in 2013, which cemented their place on North American pop-punk tours and festivals such as the Vans Warped Tour. The self-titled album in 2015 features tighter songwriting and a slightly slowed tempo, while Proper Dose in 2018 pushed the band further into introspection with more open arrangements. In 2024, The Story So Far returned with I Want to Disappear, continuing their move toward a more nuanced pop punk while retaining the melodic tension and DIY grounding that define them on stage and in the studio.
