Trash Boat
Formed in St Albans, Hertfordshire, Trash Boat first emerged from the mid‑2010s British pop‑punk scene with a sound that blends skate punk, melodic hardcore and post‑hardcore tension. The quintet released the EPs Look Alive (2014) and Brainwork (2015), and in 2015 they signed to Hopeless Records, quickly moving from small venues to spots on the Slam Dunk Festival and Reading & Leeds bills and to support tours with New Found Glory and later Beartooth. Their debut album, Nothing I Write You Can Change What You’ve Been Through, arrived in 2016 and established a direct songwriting approach combining melodic choruses with more abrasive surges; Dan Campbell of The Wonder Years guests on the track “Strangers”. With Crown Shyness (2018) Trash Boat broadened their palette toward a denser punk rock, and they pushed further into post‑hardcore on Don’t You Feel Amazing? (2021. They continued that evolution on Heaven Can Wait (2024), where alternative textures and massive guitars take greater prominence. Led by Tobi Duncan’s rasping voice, Trash Boat has moved between punk, emo and modern hardcore scenes across the UK and Europe.
