Belmont

Formed in Chicago in 2014 while its founding members were still in high school, Belmont occupies a tense pop‑punk vein that incorporates elements of easycore, post‑hardcore and emo‑pop. The band is defined by tight rhythmic playing and songs often built around rapid shifts in dynamics. From the outset frontman Taz Johnson provided the driving force; after several lineup adjustments Belmont settled into a more compact formation, now a quartet. After self‑releasing the EP Vicissitude in 2015, Belmont signed with Mutant League Records and released Between You & Me in 2016, followed by the single Step Aside in 2017. Their debut album Belmont appeared in 2018, followed by an active touring schedule alongside acts such as Senses Fail, The Amity Affliction, Sleeping with Sirens, Set It Off and Tiny Moving Parts. During the pandemic‑related concert hiatus Belmont focused on writing new material and released Reflections in 2020, then the album Aftermath in 2022. The band continued its evolution with Liminal, released in 2024, where the songwriting blends melodic choruses, hardcore tension and a more technical approach to pop‑punk.
