Reneé Rapp
An American actress and singer-songwriter born in 2000 in Huntersville, North Carolina, Reneé Rapp first came to prominence on musical theater stages, notably by winning a national high school competition in New York in 2018 and then taking on the role of Regina George in the Broadway production of Mean Girls in 2019. After relocating to New York and later Los Angeles, she simultaneously built a screen career, portraying Leighton Murray in the series The Sex Lives of College Girls beginning in 2021. Her transition toward a music career took shape with the EP Everything to Everyone, released in 2022 and expanded with a deluxe edition in early 2023, ahead of her debut studio album, Snow Angel, in 2023. Her music sits within contemporary, voice-centered pop, blending piano ballads, mid-tempo tracks, and more electronic or pop-rock-influenced production, paired with introspective lyrics about romantic relationships, identity, and emotional vulnerability, often including narratives of queer relationships. Rapp primarily performs in the United States and Europe on medium-capacity venue tours and at festivals, while maintaining ties to the musical theater and screen industries.
