Maisie Peters
Born in 2000 in Steyning, West Sussex, England, Maisie Peters occupies a pop and folk-pop vein in which autobiographical songwriting is central. Initially active on YouTube and playing small local shows as a teenager, she drew attention with early self-released singles before signing to a British label and releasing the EPs Dressed Too Nice for a Jacket (2018) and It’s Your Bed Babe, It’s Your Funeral (2019). Her writing blends accessible pop melodies, acoustic guitar and narrative lyrics focused on relationships, friendship and coming of age, with a marked attention to everyday detail. In 2021, Maisie Peters joined Gingerbread Man Records, Ed Sheeran’s label, and released her debut studio album You Signed Up for This, which asserted a more pop-oriented direction while retaining an intimate songwriting foundation. She followed with both headline shows and support slots on major tours, and contributed to the soundtrack work for the Apple TV+ series Trying in the early 2020s. In 2023 Peters released a second album, The Good Witch, where the pop aesthetic expands into denser arrangements and a conceptual writing approach around breakup, confirming the gradual evolution of her universe while remaining focused on lyric-driven songs.
