Célia Kaméni

Trained in Lyon, where in 2015 she earned diplomas in classical music and jazz at the Conservatoire, Célia Kameni develops a career at the crossroads of jazz, soul and a contemporary song open to more hybrid forms. A French singer and instrumentalist, Kameni places her voice in varied contexts, from big band to tighter projects, with particular attention to timbre, phrasing and the movement between writing and improvisation. She collaborates with Alfio Origlio on the album Secret Places in 2019, participates in the creations of The Amazing Keystone Big Band around Ella Fitzgerald with La Voix d’Ella and We Love Ella, and also appears alongside musicians such as Manu Katché, Erik Truffaz or Nu Genea. From 2021, her path also crosses that of choreographer Bintou Dembélé, notably in the show G.R.O.O.V.E, where she meets Charles Amblard, with whom she forms Krisis. In parallel, Célia Kameni develops a more personal repertoire, nourished by influences ranging from Nina Simone to Björk, and releases the EP Méduse in 2025, conceived with Yael Naim. This trajectory sketches a flexible vocal work, between contemporary jazz, soul and stage research.
