Marion Rampal
Marion Rampal is a singer and singer‑songwriter working at the crossroads of jazz, chanson and folk and blues music. Trained at the conservatory and steeped from an early age in both American repertoires and Mediterranean traditions, she builds a musical world where improvisation sits alongside songwriting in French and the reinterpretation of popular songs. In France she is part of the contemporary jazz scene, regularly collaborating with saxophonist Raphaël Imbert in collective projects that blend spirituals, chamber music and original creation, and working with pianist Pierre‑François Blanchard in compact ensembles, often trios. Her discography includes albums under her own name such as Main Blue (2016), which highlights a reworking of the blues, and Tissé (2022), where Marion Rampal further explores the ties between poetry, family memory and traditional melodies. On stage she performs in jazz clubs as well as theatres and festivals, adapting her repertoire to intimate settings or more orchestral configurations, with a constant attention to storytelling, the sound of the language and dialogue with the instrumentalists.
