Laura Misch

Based in London, Laura Misch has been developing since the mid-2010s a music in which saxophone, voice, songwriting and production converge in a space between contemporary jazz, ambient, soul and hushed electronic pop. She first emerged with the projects Playground (2017) and Lonely City (2019), shaped by urban landscapes and home-studio work that already incorporated recordings of everyday sounds. With Sample the Sky (2022) and Sample the Earth (2024) she broadened this approach toward a more organic mode of writing, where field recordings, acoustic textures and an increased focus on natural environments play a greater role. A saxophonist, singer, producer and field recordist, Laura Misch is part of a London scene open to crossings between jazz, intimate composition and slow electronic music. Her work progresses by continuity rather than rupture, linking environment, breath, improvisation and song into flexible, often meditative forms while retaining a clear melodic writing.
