Super Flu
Since the mid-2000s the German duo Super Flu has developed a melodic house and techno sound rooted in Halle (Saale), balancing percussive grooves, minimal tones and more playful touches. Composed of Feliks Thielemann and Mathias Schwarz, they first made their mark on the European club scene with a series of maxi singles that circulated among DJs, before shaping their universe around the Monaberry label, the central platform for their releases. Their productions move between hypnotic tech-house and more emotionally driven structures, with a strong taste for repetitive motifs, shifts in texture and simple but catchy melodic lines, often nourished by fragmented vocal elements or references to traditional music. The duo alternates DJ sets and live shows at clubs and electronic music festivals—particularly in Germany and Central Europe—while producing numerous remixes and occasional collaborations with producers close to the contemporary house and techno scene. Their discography includes the album Halle Saale (2013), which condenses this hybrid approach between dancefloor efficiency and the pursuit of more narrative atmospheres, and Musik 3 (2016), which extends that work into longer formats without losing the energy of the EPs that shaped the project’s identity.
