Butch

Born in Mainz, Germany, into a family of Turkish origin, Butch, aka Bülent Gürler, has since the mid-2000s forged a career rooted in the European house and techno scenes. His sound moves between tech house, minimal and softer techno, with a constant emphasis on groove, dry percussion and mobile basslines, sometimes flavored with disco, funk or acid touches depending on the project. As a producer and DJ he first attracted attention with a series of club-oriented maxis and remixes, before releasing on labels such as Running Back, Rekids, Diynamic, Innervisions, Defected and Cuttin’ Headz. Over the years Butch has also worked with or crossed paths with artists like Ricardo Villalobos, Armand van Helden and Cassius, always prioritizing dancefloor effectiveness over any fixed formula. Present at major Ibiza events as well as in German clubs like Robert Johnson, Butch maintains a trajectory defined by adapting set formats and producing with diverse club contexts in mind.
