TesseracT

Formed in the United Kingdom in 2003 around guitarist Acle Kahney, TesseracT operates within progressive metal with a strong djent element, blending syncopated guitars, complex rhythms, atmospheric passages, and often melodic vocals. The band began to take shape in the mid-2000s with James Monteith, Amos Williams, and Jay Postones, before gaining recognition with the Concealing Fate EP in 2010 and then One in 2011. Several singer changes mark its beginnings, first with Daniel Tompkins, then Elliot Coleman and Ashe O’Hara, whose presence accompanies the album Altered State in 2013, more oriented toward progressive and airy textures. Daniel Tompkins’ return in 2014 stabilizes the lineup and opens a new phase, documented by Polaris in 2015, Errai in 2016 and Sonder in 2018, where TesseracT refines a balance between rhythmic tension, clear refrains and more electronic or post-rock atmospheres. Active on metal and prog stages in Europe, North America, Australia and major festivals, TesseracT subsequently released Portals in 2021, a live recording conceived in an elaborate stage format, then War of Being in 2023, which extends its work on contrasts between sonic density, rhythmic precision and melodic developments.
