Night Verses

Formed in 2012 between Los Angeles and Fullerton, California, Night Verses originally coalesced around Nick DePirro, Reilly Herrera and Aric Improta, joined early on by vocalist Douglas Robinson, who had also been in The Sleeping. In that initial period, Night Verses blended post‑hardcore, alternative metal and metalcore with a strong emphasis on textures, dynamic contrasts and complex rhythms, as heard on the EP Out of the Sky (2012) and the album Lift Your Existence (2013). The band then shifted its writing toward a denser, more atmospheric sound on Into the Vanishing Light (2016), recorded with Ross Robinson. After Douglas Robinson left in 2017, Night Verses became an instrumental trio and refocused their music on a mix of post‑rock, art rock, space rock and shoegaze touches, while retaining the intensity of their early work. This direction is evident on From the Gallery of Sleep (2018) and Every Sound Has a Color in the Valley of Night (2024). Active on the American and European alternative rock and metal scenes, Night Verses has also been connected to letlive. and Fever 333 through its members’ trajectories.
