Peeling Flesh

Born in Oklahoma City, Peeling Flesh has since 2021 evolved in a register located between slam death metal, brutal death metal and beatdown hardcore, with a heavy, syncopated and highly rhythmic approach in which massive breakdowns intersect hip-hop references through samples and a distinctive urban imagery. The band formed after the end of Strangled, around Damonteal Harris, Jason Parrish, Mychal Soto, Joe Pelletier and Austin Hirom, and quickly developed a series of short formats that establish its identity, from Slamaholics Mixtape and Winter Mixtape Promo in 2021 to Human Pudding in 2022, before PF Radio and Slamaholics Vol. 2 in 2023. This progression is accompanied by regular presence on the American extreme scene, notably at the Oklahoma Death Fest, then on tours more exposed alongside Whitechapel and Revocation in 2024. Peeling Flesh published in the same year its first album, The G Code (2024), on Unique Leader Records, after the compilation 3 Year Peeling Spree (2024), which gathers its early releases. In this still relatively recent trajectory, Peeling Flesh is part of a contemporary death metal vein that emphasizes groove, percussion-based violence and the direct impact of tracks, while keeping a clear anchoring in the hardcore and extreme metal scene of the Midwest and the Southern United States.
