Piers Faccini

Born in England in 1970 to an Anglo-Italian family and settled as a child in the south of France, Piers Faccini has forged a path at the crossroads of folk, acoustic blues, and Mediterranean music. After early work with the London band Charley Marlowe in the 1990s, he launched a solo career with the album Leave No Trace in 2004, which laid the foundations for a style centered on voice, guitar, and pared-down arrangements. He followed with Tearing Sky in 2006 and Two Grains of Sand in 2009, where influences from the Anglo-American folk tradition, the music of the Sahel, and a distinct taste for modal colors come to the fore. Based in the Cévennes, Faccini continued to explore this blend on My Wilderness in 2011 and Shapes of the Fall in 2021, while pursuing numerous collaborations, notably with cellist Vincent Ségal and instrumentalists from African and Mediterranean scenes. Alongside his work as a singer and songwriter, Piers Faccini is also a painter and illustrator, often creating the artwork for his records, which reinforces the artisanal, cohesive character of his artistic universe.
