Oscar and The Wolf

Oscar and the Wolf is a Belgian project led by singer-songwriter Max Colombie that emerged in the early 2010s from a blend of electronic pop, indie sonics and R&B influences. Initially associated with a more acoustic, folk-inflected approach, the project gradually shifted toward a nocturnal, slow and synthetic aesthetic marked by hazy textures, atmospheric production and a vocal often placed front and center. The release of the album Entity in 2014 established this move toward intimate electronic pop, followed by Infinity in 2017 which amplified the dance and R&B elements, and The Shimmer in 2021, where Colombie continued to pursue a sound that is both melancholic and club-oriented. On stage, Oscar and the Wolf presents as a solo project backed by musicians, with attention paid to rhythm, lighting and the visual aspect of shows, regularly touring Europe from mid-size venues to major festivals. This trajectory gives Oscar and the Wolf a distinctive place in contemporary Belgian pop, at the crossroads of electronic chanson, alternative pop and highly atmospheric R&B.
