The Haunted Youth

Led by Belgian musician Joachim Liebens and based in Hasselt, The Haunted Youth operates within a dream-pop and psychedelic vein where restrained shoegaze, melodic indie rock and synthetic atmospheres intersect. Launched in the early 2020s with a series of singles including "Teen Rebel", The Haunted Youth attracted attention on the Belgian independent scene before playing numerous dates in clubs and small venues across Europe. The debut album, "Dawn of the Freak", released in 2022, consolidates the project's aesthetic around heavily reverbed guitars, engulfing keyboards and melancholic vocal lines that explore adolescence, doubt and imaginative escape. On stage, The Haunted Youth performs as a full band, giving the studio compositions a more immediate dimension while preserving the dreamy textures that define the recordings. Between guitar-driven pop and more psychedelic sonorities, The Haunted Youth pursues a trajectory centered on accessible songwriting imbued with a diffuse emotional tension, regularly appearing at festivals and alternative circuits in Belgium and internationally.
