Artbat

Born in Kyiv, the Ukrainian duo ARTBAT comprises DJs and producers Artur and Batish, active on the electronic scene since the mid-2010s. First noticed for EPs leaning toward melodic techno and progressive house—most notably 2015’s Mandrake—the project quickly settled into a club-focused register where muscular basslines, clear harmonic progressions, and atmospheric textures structure tracks designed for long sets. A series of releases on European electronic labels, and from 2017 on Diynamic with the Planeta EP, helped define an aesthetic poised between techno energy and introspective melodies. The duo went on to collaborate with producers and vocalists from the house and techno scenes, and to deliver a string of remixes for artists associated with the melodic electronic current, cementing a regular presence in the lineups of club nights and specialized festivals. In 2021, ARTBAT launched their own label, Upperground—conceived as a platform for this sonic identity—while continuing an intensive international touring schedule across clubs and electronic music events.
