Alok
Born into a family of DJs, the son of Ekanta and Swarup, Alok Achkar Peres Petrillo was born in Goiânia, Brazil, in 1991 and grew up in an environment closely tied to the electronic scene; his twin brother Bhaskar also pursued a career as a producer and DJ. Initially active in trance and psytrance with the project Logica, Alok shifted his music in the early 2010s toward a style more focused on house, deep house, tech house and Brazilian bass — a sound built on prominent basslines, club rhythms and more melodic hooks. His solo trajectory gained momentum in Brazil before expanding internationally, notably with the 2016 track 'Hear Me Now', produced with Bruno Martini and Zeeba. Since then Alok has released a succession of singles and collaborations, moving between EDM, electronic pop and dancefloor-oriented productions, while continuing to appear on festival and club circuits. He belongs to a generation of Brazilian artists who brought the local scene closer to global electronic formats.
