Hélène Ségara

Born in 1971 in Six-Fours-les-Plages in the Var to a family of Italian and Armenian origins, Hélène Ségara trained by singing from a young age in the piano bars of southern France before settling in Paris in the early 1990s. Discovered by a producer, she recorded the single “Je vous aime adieu” in 1996, which preceded the album “Cœur de verre” the same year — a French pop record centered on the voice and ballads. Her career reached new heights with the duet “Vivo per lei” alongside Andrea Bocelli, and then with the role of Esmeralda in the musical “Notre-Dame de Paris” from 1998, which firmly established her on francophone stages. The albums “Au nom d’une femme” (2000), “Humaine” (2003), “Quand l’éternité…” (2006), “Mon pays c’est la terre” (2008) and “Parmi la foule” (2011) extended a trajectory between chanson, adult pop and more rhythm-driven tracks, often supported by orchestral arrangements. Ségara then explored Joe Dassin’s repertoire with “Et si tu n’existais pas” in 2013, returned to original compositions on “Tout commence aujourd’hui” in 2016, and released “Karma” in 2021. Alongside studio work and touring, she has taken part in various television projects in France, notably as a judge on talent shows, confirming a regular presence in the francophone music scene.
