Gryffin
Behind the stage name Gryffin is Dan Griffith, an American producer and DJ from the San Francisco Bay Area, trained on guitar and piano before turning to electronic music. Gryffin came to prominence in the mid‑2010s with a series of melodic remixes for pop and indie artists, establishing a dance‑pop approach that sits between progressive house, a tempered future bass, and vocal‑centered songwriting. From 2016 he began releasing his own singles — notably “Heading Home” and “Whole Heart” — which established him on the North American EDM scene and paved the way for recurring collaborations with singers and producers such as Illenium and Daya. His debut album Gravity, released in 2019 after the EP Gravity Pt. 1 (2018), consolidates this work around prominent melodies, climax‑oriented structures, and frequent use of guitars and pianos within an electronic framework. Gryffin continued this aesthetic on Alive (2022), while developing a live format that blends DJ performance with live instrumentation, and remained active between international tours and dance‑ and electronic‑pop single releases.
