Audien
Under the name Audien, Nathaniel Rathbun has built a career since the late 2000s rooted in the American electronic scene, with ties to Mystic, Connecticut. Initially shaped by trance and its melodic textures, Audien evolved his writing toward a clear, vocal and highly structured progressive house—at the crossroads of large‑scale EDM and the more euphoric sensibility inherited from trance labels. Signed very young to Flashover Recordings, Ferry Corsten’s label, he released his first tracks as early as 2009 and later appeared on labels such as Armada, Anjunabeats, Astralwerks and Spinnin’. Over the 2010s Audien broadened his repertoire with pop‑leaning songs and collaborations with artists like Arty, 3LAU, MAX and Lady Antebellum, while retaining an approach centered on harmonic build‑ups, sung choruses and luminous productions. His discography includes the EPs Daydreams (2015) and Some Ideas (2017), and the album Escapism (2019). In 2015 he also received a Grammy nomination for his remix of Bastille’s “Pompeii.” Present at festivals as well as in club circuits and Las Vegas residencies, Audien continues to champion a melodic progressive house sound, which he has again foregrounded in his recent releases and tours.
