Illenium

Under the name Illenium, Nicholas D. Miller has developed since the early 2010s an electronic aesthetic focused on melodies and vocals, positioned between future bass, melodic dubstep and electronic pop. Born in Chicago and based in Denver, Illenium first gained attention through a series of remixes and online releases before consolidating his sound with the album Ashes in 2016, noted for its cinematic atmospheres and a pronounced use of guitar and piano. Awake (2017) refined this emotional approach around singers from the pop and indie scenes, while Ascend (2019) expanded the format toward tracks designed for large North American festival stages. With Fallen Embers (2021), Illenium further explored the intersections of mainstream EDM, electronic balladry and rock influences, increasing collaborations with producers and vocalists from the electronic and alternative scenes. The self-titled album Illenium (2023) reinforced this hybrid dimension, alternating club-oriented tracks, pop choruses and heavier passages inspired by rock and metal. On stage, Illenium combines DJ sets and live line-ups depending on the project, anchoring his work both in club culture and in amplified concert performance.
