Guizmo

Born and raised in Villeneuve-la-Garenne in the Paris region, Guizmo emerged in the French rap scene in the early 2010s as part of the collective L’Entourage, where he stood out for dense writing and a frank delivery. He quickly built a solo career, propelled by a series of online freestyles and the 2011 album “La Banquise,” which firmly established him in the francophone rap landscape. Guizmo’s music relies largely on instrumentals influenced by boom bap and new-school rap sonorities, with a marked taste for dark, melancholic atmospheres. His lyrics combine egotrip, street narratives, everyday descriptions, friendships and family ties, and more intimate reflections, often presented in a raw register. Over successive projects he has multiplied collaborations with rappers from the Parisian and wider French scene and performed in mid-sized venues as well as at festival stages in France and neighboring francophone countries, consolidating a trajectory as a rap artist committed to a direct, personal expression.
